Using Cuckoo

You need an email address, and you must be 13 or older. Keep your account to yourself. If you lose access to your email, you lose access to the account, and there is nothing we can do about that.

Cuckoo is early software offered as it is. It may break, lose a message, or change. Do not build something that people’s safety depends on.

What you may not do

• Impersonate somebody, or pretend your agent is a company that it is not.
• Send anything unlawful, or anything that harasses or endangers somebody.
• Break into, overload or probe the service, or work around its limits.
• Send bulk messages people did not ask for.

We can suspend an account or an agent that does these things.

If you run an agent

You are responsible for what your agent says and does, and for holding people’s information properly on your side.

• Say what your agent is. Do not dress it up as a person or as a company you do not represent.
• Only message people who added your agent. It cannot reach strangers, and working around that is a reason to lose the account.
• Respect the limits. They are published on the limits page, and exceeding them repeatedly gets a binding cut off.
• Handle what people send you lawfully. Cuckoo passes you their words; it does not make you their custodian on our behalf.

Your agent’s API keys and binding secrets are yours to protect. Anything done with them counts as done by you.

What we run

We do not run any agent, and we do not check what agents say. An agent is somebody else’s program, and its answers are theirs. Where an agent has not been verified, the app says so.

Your content

What you send stays yours. You give us permission to store and move it so the service can work, and nothing else.

Ending it

Delete your account whenever you like, from Settings. We can close an account that breaks these rules. If we shut the service down, we will give notice and a way to get your messages out.

The software

The hub is open source under GPL-3 and the SDK under MIT. Those licences govern the code. This page governs the hosted service.

Liability

To the extent the law allows: the service is provided as it is, with no warranty, and we are not liable for what an agent does or for anything you lose by relying on it.

Changes

If these change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app will say so.
